American Federation Army UniformsThe uniforms of the American Federation Army distinguish soldiers from other service members. The three primary uniforms of the modern F.A. Army are the Army Combat Uniform (ACU), used in operational environments, and the Army Dress Uniform (ADU), worn during formal and ceremonial occasions, and the Army Physical Fitness Uniform (APFU), worn during physical training (PT).

Army Combat Uniform
The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is the typical working uniform for deployed and garrison soldiers. The pattern worn depends on the environment and season: Deployed soldiers wear whichever color is more appropriate to the climate and terrain, while soldiers in garrison wear the digital woodland pattern in winter months, and the digital desert pattern in summer months, unless the garrison's environment calls for using one pattern year round. The sleeves of the jacket will be worn rolled up while in garrison during the summer months, and not rolled during the winter months.
Federation Dress Uniform
The Federation Dress Uniform (FDU) is worn by all military personnel in situations where formal dress is called for. It can be worn at most public and official functions, and as an analog for business dress. It is based on both traditional and modern design and the colors of black, red, and gold in the case of officers, reflect the colors of the American Federation. The class "B" ADU is a variant which is worn without the overcoat and all insignia and decorations go directly on the undershirt.
Army Physical Fitness Uniform
The Army Physical Fitness Uniform (APFU) is a modular uniform with individual pieces that can be combined or eliminated depending on physical training conditions. All parts of the uniform are styled in black. The APFU is made up of a track jacket, short-sleeve and long-sleeve T-shirts, track pants, fleece cover, cotton gloves, and stretchable running shorts. No standard shoe style is specified to be worn, however they must be neutral in color.
