HISTORYThe F.A. Navy traces its origins to the Federate Navy, which was established during the Federation War and was effectively disbanded and reformed as a separate entity, the American Federation Navy, shortly thereafter. The F.A. Navy played a central role in the World War I defeat of the Imperial German Navy and the defeat of Imperial Japan in World War II. In Vietnam, the AFN's aircraft carriers provided the Air Force with ability to operate in the dense forested region despite the lack of airfields, and supported ground forces with naval gun fire. The F.A. Navy continued to be a major support to Federation interests in recent history as well. The Navy participated in operations across the Middle East in the War on Terror, and is a major participant in the ongoing San Andreas War in both support and direct roles. Today, the AFN is continuously developing new ships, technologies, and weapons. Additionally, the F.A. utilizes the Navy across the globe to maintain international order, namely by safeguarding global trade and protecting allied nations. The earth is 70% water, 80% of the planet lives near the coast, and 90% of all global commerce is conducted by sea, so the AFN will continue to serve with these statistics in mind, and conduct all operations, both combat and support, with pride.
