Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR)Death waits in the dark
The Special Operations Aviation Regiment's mission is to provide elite pilots to fly other special operations forces. Known as Night Stalkers, these Airmen are highly trained and ready to accomplish the very toughest missions in all environments, anywhere in the world, day or night, with unparalleled precision. They primarily employ highly modified Chinook, Sea Knight, Black Hawk, and Little Bird helicopters.

Pararescue That others may live
It’s the important and often dangerous job of Air Force Pararescuemen, also known as PJ's, to rescue and medically treat downed military personnel. Often operating in hostile areas, these highly-trained specialists not only provide combat support, but are skilled parachutists, scuba divers, rock climbers and are even arctic-trained to allow access to any environment to save lives wherever they’re needed.

Combat Control Team (CCT)First there
Some of the military’s most difficult missions are carried out with the assistance of AFAF combat control teams. Acting as a small attachment to special operations and standard units across all military, it’s up to these specialists to provide command and control and direct air traffic in remote, and often hostile, areas. It takes years of training in a range of skills to become one of these elite warriors and succeed on missions all over the world.

Special Air Service (SAS)Who dares wins
The Special Air Service (SAS) is a special operations unit of the Air Force which undertakes a number of missions including covert reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, direct action and hostage rescue. While the SAS operates from any means of transport and on any terrain, they specialize in airborne operations from both planes and helicopters. Much of the information and actions regarding the SAS is highly classified.
